Neon Nest started with a simple idea: build something honest, on a piece of land we actually love, and share it with people — and businesses — who'd appreciate it the same way we do. We're not a hotel chain, and we're not a marketing agency in the traditional sense either. We're a family living right here on Samui, with a bit of a story behind us: over 15 years of marketing experience in Germany, more than 10 years of travel-blogging before that, and years spent actually living the traveller life — road trips across Europe, camping adventures, stargazing nights in Australia, and a fair bit of that with a small child in tow — before we finally built our own nest here on Samui.
That background matters more than it might sound. It means we know what marketing actually looks like when it works, and we know what travellers genuinely want, because we've been the traveller, the guest, the one searching for the right place at midnight with a toddler asleep in the back seat. Three years in as Samui expats now, we've added the missing piece: how this island actually ticks, what guests here are really looking for, and how the social media algorithms behave in this specific corner of the world — which, we've learned, is not the same playbook as Europe.
Everything we do comes back to the same few things: being straightforward about what we offer, keeping things natural rather than polished within an inch of their life, respecting the land we're on, and genuinely enjoying life here — the slow parts and the lively parts both. A good morning by the pool matters to us. So does a good night out, a good meal, and knowing your neighbours by name. Alongside our own guesthouse, we bring all of that — the marketing background, the travel instincts, the local island knowledge — to other businesses here: villas, restaurants, hotels and tourism operators who deserve better photos, sharper strategy, and content that actually performs, not just content that looks nice for a week.
Got one? Let’s make it look as good as it actually is.
